About local elections
Town and Parish councillors play an important role in their communities and the elections for the 10 town and parish councils in Sefton take place every 4 years. Thornton is one of the 10 town and parish councils of Sefton, and within Thornton Parish Council there are 7 seats.
Councillors are elected for a four year term on an “all out” basis i.e. all the seats on a parish council are elected at the same time so all seats are up for election in the 10 parishes.
If you need further information please contact the Town/Parish Clerk for your area.
